Old Alarm Clock

Time Will Tell

WRITTEN BY: KOAY HONG XIN

Old Alarm Clock

You and me, we declared a war,

on the tied, outdated family,

on the old, monstrous society,

on the rusted, undemocratic beliefs,

You and me, we made a bet,

for the pink future that we wish,

for the happiness that we wish,

for the sweet home that we wish for.

You and me, we made a bet,

for the brightest colour that fills your head,

for the million dreams that you have,

for the world that you ever want.

I’ve loved you for many years,

using everything I have,

without regretting for a moment,

solely for the simple happiness with you.

How many times have you mentioned?

to give me a decent home,

to give me a home sweet home,

to give me a life filled with happiness.

But I never know,

your words are just fairy tale,

I’m not the only one for you,

though I’ve given you all I have.

I can still remember,

the day I realised you mortgaged our house,

the home sweet home you promised,

the day I saw you on the newspaper,

no, it should be you all,

you never know how painful I am now, internally.

Cause you never know,

for the years I fall in love with you,

never have I thought for a moment,

our loves are so vulnerable in front of fame and glamour.

I’ve lost the bet,

I don’t know what to react,

I can’t live a world without you,

but I can’t live a world with you now,

I’m lost,

perhaps time will tell,

time will tell.
